Hi! My name is Alan and I am a software developer and community organizer. I am most active withing the Python community, where I am the founder of Puget Sound Programming Python, aka PuPPy. I am also a co-founder of PyCascades, the premier Python conference of the Pacific Northwest.

When I am not writing software for a living I'm probably pursuing one of my many hobbies, including but not limited to:

• Painting (primarily watercolors and gouache)
• Plein Air sketching (ink + markers)
• Birding
• Nature Photography (mostly birds, but I love all animals)
• Skateboarding
• Woodworking
• Modular Synthesizers
• Cooking Vegan food

My social media of choice used to be Twitter, but like many folks I moved my energies elsewhere in late 2022. I have accounts all over the place but you can mostly find me on Mastodon where I go by @fancysandwiches.
